To begin with the 3d phase of ARCH 2354 we will test your knowledge of Form Z.
Go back to the gallery building that you visited and took pictures of for the 2d phase.
Pick a facade of that building and begin taking measurements, these measurements need to be as detailed as you can manage. The ares that you can reach must be detailed while ones you may not reach should be estimated as precisely as possible.
From this information you will begin constructing a 3d model of the building facade. Use the tools taught to you in the past week to create a detailed and intricate model of your building facade.
Because this is a model of just one facade we expect details you would not normally model, details such as brick thickness, flashing type, whether the windows are double or single paned.
The more detail and work you put into these models the better the resulting project will be.
We understand many people have made plans for spring break, we ask those people to go ahead and gather some rough measurements so that they may start on this project and have something for the week of the 19th. You may gather the specific measurements during that week as we will be working on this model during class time.
The week after spring break we expect you to have begun this project so that we may work with you during class.
